I am thankful for many things that I have received and people whom I have been able to serve over the past 34 years. I have told my loved ones what I am thankful for, but never sat down and truly thought about it.
After just a few minutes; I was overwhelmed with past and present moments for which I never truly gave thanks.
First - and what will always rank first - I want to give thanks to God. For one, God is the reason why I am here on Earth and the reason for all that has been in my past, present, and future.
I would like to thank God for being a loving God. I know there have been times I haven't been a great son, but I am and will always be a work in progress. God knows this because He made me.
I am also thankful for God's grace. I would love to thank God's only Son, Jesus Christ, for taking a punishment that was mine.
Second, I want to give thanks to my awesome wife, Jill, daughter Dakota, and son Peyton. They are always there when I come home with love in their hearts, smiling faces, and stories of their day.
No matter what kind of a day I start with, I know that when I walk into my house I will find love.
I love and thank you.
Third, I want to thank my officers - Sergeant Nick Kitts, Officer John Pritchard, Officer Jeff Priest, Officer Pete Schonfeld, and Officer Shelby Rickerson.
This strong group of officers put themselves out there every day and night to protect everyone who comes into our great Town of Vevay.
These officers and their families make sacrifices every year for the call of service. I want to thank these officers for their dedication, and their families for the sacrifices.
Lastly, I want to thank the citizens of Switzerland County and the great Town of Vevay.
I thank you for your waves through the day, the great conversations, southern hospitality, and allowing my call to service to be for you.
If you're still reading this, spend some time alone and think about what you are thankful for, and share it with your friends and family. It is a joy to give thanks and to serve this great community.
I want to wish everyone a Thankful Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. God blessed the world.
