The Historic Hoosier Theater will play host to the Switzerland County High School drama club performance of "How to Kiss a Girl" this weekend.

The play will be performed tomorrow (Friday) night and also Saturday night, with the play beginning at 7:30 p.m. each evening.

The comedy written by Wade Bradford features a cast of Switzerland County High School students, all under the direction of Carrie Barwick.

When young Ken Beardsley gets ready for his very first date, he decides to download audio advice from across the centuries in order to impress his high school crush, Steph. However, the date quickly spirals out of control as he tries to simultaneously follow dating tips from a communist-fearing nationalist from the '50s, a swashbuckling pirate, a sweet southern belle, and a puritanical pilgrim. Poor Ken realizes that if he really wants to win Steph's heart, he'll need to tune out his smartphone and tune in to his own instincts before it's too late.

Jacob Schmerr will play the lead character of Ken Beardsley; while Bre Braun will portray Minerva. Ken's mom will be played by Kylie Carfield; Colton Castle plays Mr. Gently; Isaac Hart is the Pirate; Noah Howlett is Steph's dad; Macy Barwick is Belle; Kyla Ramsey is Stephanie; Erika Coy portrays a Pilgrim; and Alexis Snider is Jessica.

In addition, different students will portray characters in one of the performances.

Matt Green will portray a Cowboy on Friday night; with Brooke Todd portraying a Cowgirl on Saturday night. Megan Dasis will play a Modern Girl on Friday night, with Adeli Kinne playing the role on Saturday. Noah Howlett will be the Disco Guy on Friday night, with Bradley Cox playing the part on Saturday night.

Along with the performers, students are also involved in the crew.

Ricardo Cidral is the director; with Sean Oatman and McKenna Edwards handling costumes. Anthony Henderson and Aaron Doherty are handling props. Christian Stogsdill and Bre Ricketts are handling hair and makeup; Ling Phirakulsi is in charge of art; and Zach Bladen is in charge of sound and lighting.

Admission is $5 and tickets are available at the door.
