Purdue Extension Field Day is August 17th

The Purdue Extension Service will hold the Southeast Purdue Ag Center (SEPAC) Field Day on Thursday, August 17th, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 pm. Topics presented will reflect the conditions of the season and important considerations. The presentations will be conducted by Purdue Extension specialists and educators that are foremost in their field of study.

Topics will include: Weed Management Update: Spring Weather Challenges, Roundup Ready Xtend Soybeans, and New Herbicide Traits by Weed Science Specialist Bill Johnson; Soybean Update: Managing Soybeans for Top Yields by Soybean Specialist Shaun Casteel; FFA Corn Challenge by local FFA Chapters and UAV Basics: Scouting for Diseases and Weeds with Joel Wahlman and Alex Helms of SEPAC.

The morning concludes with a free lunch and speaker Peter Goldsbrough from Purdue Botany and Plant Pathology presenting "Genetically Modified Crops: Marvel or Malady?"

The field day is free and open to the public with lunch being sponsored by the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Soybean Alliance. PARP, CCH, and CEU credits will be available. Those wishing to receive PARP credit must bring $10 and their private applicator license to the program.

The Southeast Purdue Agricultural Center (SEPAC) is located at 4425 E County Road 350 N, Butlerville, Indiana, 47223. There is a yellow caution light on US Highway 50 approximately 5 miles east of North Vernon and 1 mile west of Butlerville. Turn north off of US Highway 50 at the yellow caution light and follow the signs approximately ¾ of a mile to SEPAC.
