Tricia (Stewart) Lyon, 58, of Vevay, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, April 4th, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
She was born April 13th, 1954, in Madison, the loving daughter of the late Loren H. and Dorothy E. (Stewart) Browning. She was raised in Vevay where she was a 1973 graduate of Switzerland County High School.
She was united in marriage on October 27th, 1973, in Versailles, to Michael Wayne "Mike" Lyon. Unto this union one daughter and two sons arrived to bless their home. They shared nearly 40 years of marriage together until her death.
She was a CNA for Maxium Health Care Services in Jeffersonville and Interim Health Care Services in Lawrenceburg until she became disabled in July of 2012. She was a former CNA at Swiss Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vevay and King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She had resided all of her life in Vevay and attended Vevay Nazarene Church. She will be remembered for her love of crocheting, working on crafts, camping, her grandkids and her sense of humor. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 40 years, Michael Wayne "Mike" Lyon of Vevay; her daughter, Michelle Smith and husband Mike of Louisville, Kentucky; her two sons, Jason Lyon and wife Shauna of Vevay and Chad Lyon and wife Gena of Milan; her 13 grandchildren, Angela, Aaron, Courtney, Caleb, Caley, Katelyn, Krystal, Kasey, Michael, Rose, Tyler, Taylor and Cheyenne; her sister, Vickie D. McNay of Warsaw, Kentucky; her brother, Richard D. Browning of Milan; her sister-in-law, Sally Stewart of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Samuel E. Stewart; her sister-in-law, Velma Browning; and her stepmother, Anna J. Browning.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 9th, by Reverend Arnold Cutter at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial was in Vevay Cemetery. Jane Ellen Smith, 68, of Patriot, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Monday, April 8th, 2013, at Liberty of Riverview Health Care Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born in Cincinnati on May 17th, 1944, the daughter of the late Howard and Frances (Andrews) Moore.
On October 27th, 1960, she married Alva Carl Smith, who survives.
In addition to her loving husband Alva, she is survived by her two daughters, Carla Jane Auel of Patriot and Tina Marie Hobbs of Rising Sun; her grandchildren, Alicia Janelle Auel, Micah Lynn Webster and Carl Ernest Webster; her great-grandchildren, Christian Webster, Haley Webster and Mason Janson; her sister, Donna Ruble of Cincinnati; and her brother, William Moore of Cincinnati.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Linda Losey; and her grandson, Christopher William Auel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today (Thursday, April 11th) by Brother Greg Matthew at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. today (Thursday, April 11th) until service time. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery in Patriot. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
Melissa D. "Missy" Powell, 48, of Hanover, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013, at her residence.
She was born May 21st, 1964, in Madison, the loving daughter of Ronald Dale and Sandra Sue (Roberts) Powell. She resided in Jefferson County all her life and was a 1982 graduate of Southwestern High School in Hanover. She received her associate degree in accounting from Ivy Tech. She worked early in life at the Hillside Inn and the Historic Broadway Hotel. She also served as manager at Granny's Place in Hanover and worked as a department manager for Walmart for 13 years. She was a member of the Kent United Methodist Church, the Cam Car Club and the Phi Beta Kappa Sorority.
Survivors include her sisters, Ronda Bowling and husband Kenny of Madison and Teresa Jones and husband Jim of Brooksburg; her nephews, Clint Bowling, Robbie Jones, Justin Peters abnd Christopher Jones and companion Marketta Abbott; her caregivers, Tyree Jenkins and family of Hanover; her great-niece, Anna Belle Jones; her step-great-grandmother, Helen Kreeger of Hanover; her god children, Jake and Trey Taylor of Madison; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Dale Powell on October 18th, 2004; her mother, Sandra Sue Roberts Powell on March 28th, 2011; her grandparents, Joe B. Roberts on December 22nd, 2000, and Norma Jean Kreeger Roberts on December 17th, 1999, and Frank and Inez Golden Powell; and her great-grandparents, Milton Kreeger and Beulah Corman Kreeger Muster.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 6th, by Pastor Ron Lee at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment was in Zoar Cemetery near Kent, Indiana.

Kenneth R. "Buddy" Kiser, 62, of Deputy, Indiana, passed away at 9:14 p.m. Monday, April 8th, 2013, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was born November 12th, 1950, in Whitesburg, Kentucky, the loving son of Hobert and Susan Juanita Lucas Kiser. He resided his early life in Kentucky, moving to Jefferson County at the age of 10. He was employed for several years with Sandstone Industries in Madison and enjyed the people he worked with. He was an avid U.K. basketball fan, loved semi-tractor trailers, fishing, drawing and camping. He was a member of the Solid Rock Community Church near Scottsburtg. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed being with them.
Survivors include his three sisters, Brenda Wolf of Madison, Debbie Higgins and husband Joey of Canaan and Shanon Hamilton and husband Kevin of Deputy; his five brothers, Keith Kiser and wife Rebecca of Madison, Jimmy Hall and wife Annetta of Whitesburg, Levi, Zachary and Joshua Kiser, all of Indianapolis; his stepbrother, Ricky McIntosh of Indianapolis; his nieces and nephews, Jerry, Joe, Susan, Chris, Heather, Jacqui, Cody, Ethan, Daniel, Dorothy and Glenda; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Casey, Alyssa, Randy, Cassidy, Sunshine, Camdon, Madelyn and Coleman; his aunt, Thursa Baker of Whitesburg; his uncles, Joe Kiser and Millard Lucas, both of Whitesburg; and several great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hobert "Coal Miner" Kiser on July 15th, 2010; his mother, Susan Juanita Lucas Kiser on July 3rd, 2011; his sister, Patricia Vann Kiser in 1954; his nephew, William Hall; and his great-niece, Ashton Leigh Lawson on June 5th, 2003.
Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Mike Shuler at 1 p.m. Friday, April 12th, at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today (Thursday, April 11th) and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
