Patty Chase wasn't able to make the Red HOT Hatters luncheon last Monday at the Moasis restaurant in Vevay and she missed a good one! The food was excellent and the service fantastic! We even had a first timer Mary Cole, a friend of Laura Riga. Joining Marie and Laura were: Claudia Dawson, Melodee Stepleton, Stasia Wiseman, Charlene Goff, Diana Barry, Sandy Dawson, Carla Burt, Dottie Keeton, Joyce Johnson and me. Joyce is progressing very well following her knee surgery and has graduated to a cane already.

While standing on the corner Tuesday talking to Brian Hughes and Greg Kammer, I was amazed at how many people passing through the intersection of Highways 250 and 156 took the time to honk and wave. We didn't know everyone - Jill Hutcherson, of course - but we waved anyway. I would, however, like to think that it was indicative of the friendly people we have in our town.

The dedication and prayers for the new Switzerland County Emergency Response Service was well attended last week. The churches of Switzerland County were will represented. Nadine Swift appreciated all her new workers and all that helped them get it ready. Her aunt and daughter and granddaughter came from Ohio for the event. We are glad to have them and wish them well.
