It's been a while since I wrote any news so I will try to catch up.
Carol and I took in the 127 yard sale one day along with some others from Switzerland County, Randy Turner, Amy Hoskins, and Sara Anderson. It was hot abut we enjoyed the day.
Angie and Petey Browning's Aunt Barb from Hawaii was in for a short visit. They all got together at Lee Fuller's home. Everyone enjoyed the time with Aunt Barb.
It was birthday time for Dick and Carol Schroeder. Carol and I went to Florence, Kentucky and met them at Chili's. We enjoyed a nice lunch with them. They are doing okay. Dick called last week and said they were pretty much staying in out of this hot weather. He said Carol was out with her friend Pat Gutzwiller, enjoying a movie and he was home alone.
We have been up to Paul and Doris Chase's a couple of times, just checking on them. Paul is not real well. Keep him and Doris in your prayers. Doris said Steve Kinne stops by regularly to check on them. Also, Mike McClellan surprised them with a visit. Paul really enjoyed Mike's visit, he hadn't seen him for a long time. We asked Doris about Daisy and Buddy Swanson. She said Buddy isn't very well either. We are thinking of you, Daisy and Buddy, and saying a prayer too.
It is back to school time for our school. This is Ethan's first year of school. It was hard on his Mom - Nana too. Mandy and Ed took him the first day. Ethan asked his Mom, "When are you leaving, I've got work to do." If I know Ethan he will get over that real soon. He is doing well so far. Angie, their other Nana, just has Jack now at her house, and I know she was ready for them to go to school. Now she can focus just on Jack, and sometimes she has Cash, Liz and Ryan's little boy.
Dan and Jane Geren, our friends from Laporte, Indiana, stopped by our house recently. Jane and Dan had just returned home from a trip to Switzerland. Jane brought her laptop computer and shared her pictures. She takes wonderful pictures. I am glad they got to go, because Jane is still recovering from a broken ankle. She said they took her around in a wheelchair. But at least she got to go.
Wayne Daugherty, our pastor at Fredonia Baptist Church, has been having a lot of health issues. He has taken a leave of absence from our church. We miss you, Wayne. Hurry and get well. Wayne's son Rick Daugherty has taken his dad's spot. Thank you, Rick, you are doing a great job. Prayer list at church: Paul Chase, Tommy and Ann May, the family of Mike McClure, Donna Miller, Christy McMahon, Wayne Daugherty, Brenda Novak, Tammy Johns, Hazel Knaus, Kenny Turner, Barb Covington, Francis Martin.
The Browning-Bosaw reunion was held recently in Rising Sun. Wayne had some great pictures on Facebook. It is always great when family can get together.
Ed and I went to the Reds ball game. They lost but we still had a great evening.
It was great to get to talk to Betty and Dale Drew and the Terry Peters family at the Swiss Wine Festival. What a great family, a lot of fond memories when they lived on Tapps Ridge.
I got to visit with Bill Peters at Walmart. Bill is having some health issues so keep him in your prayers.
We want to send our sincere sympathy to the family of Mike McClure. He was a great man and a well loved teacher. He will be missed.
Scott Curlin and his family were home for a few weeks on leave from the service. They are stationed in England. Carol and I got to see Scott. He looks good and he told us he will be retiring in three years. It seems like he just left (my how time flies). Good to see you Scott. I believe him and family left for home Saturday.
Bobby Darbro bush hogged our property for us. He also sprayed the weeds on the driveway for the church and cut the grass around the drive for Mary Jo. We all thank you very much.
Mary Jo Meyer is slowly improving but has a long way to go.
Donnie and Kim Stout got to see their new grandbaby, Hazel. Tyla, Justin and Hazel visited over the festival weekend.

Well, another great Swiss Wine Festival has come and gone. Carol and I, Joan Schaub and Gary Collins attended the festival and country music show Friday evening. We got to see a lot of friends. It was a great show.
Saturday Carol went to the parade. Ethan rode in the parade. Sunday Carol and I took Ethan and Jack back to the festival. The boys rode rides and played games. What a great Sunday afternoon. Thanks to everyone who worked and volunteered to make it a great festival.
Here is a little saying I found on Facebook:
A person's actions
Will tell you everything
You need to know.
That is all I have for now. Just wanted to let you know the coffee pot is still on. Take care.
