The Relay for Life meeting will be Thursday, February 26th (tonight) at the Vevay Utilities Building on Seminary Street at 6:30 p.m. Hope you can be there and get involved.

The Ridge Winery had a big crowd Saturday for the Souper Saturday on the Indiana Wine Trail. I stopped in for some soup and it was really good. I saw with Mary Jane Demaree and Stan and Peg Attenberger. They are from Madison and run the Madison by Design Store on Main Street. They were so nice and invited us to visit their store. Mary Jane said they had a lot of regulars and visitors and were glad to see so many local people take part. It was a good day.

The Florence Flowers Extension Homemakers Club ladies entertained the Riverview Extension Homemakers ladies with a delicious supper Monday at the Florence Church of Christ meeting room. It was Charles Pickett's day again Tuesday. I think there was a tear in his eye but that could have been from the singing. A good time was had by all. His just goes on and on too. Hope it was a happy one Chuck.

Sunday's birthday lunch was for Glenda Sullivan. Judy Lozier, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Mark Scott, Charles and Alberta Pickett, Rita and Andrea Brogan and friend Joey, Patty Chase, Corinne Martin, Ken and Sylvia Byars all enjoyed her day and all her funny and pretty cards. Paul Messmore and granddaughter Hannah, Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown, Gail Ann Clements, Chad, Cary, Slone and McKenzie Brown from South Carolina also visited Margaret Lee. Randy and Lorraine had supper with Steve and Martha Bladen one evening and they sent supper home with them for Margaret Lee. She said it was really good and thank you.

Here's more happy birthdays for February and March that I forgot last week. Peggy Sullivan, Evelyn Smith, Nora Gross, Glenda Sullivan, Genevieve Truitt and Sondra Furnish.

Denny and Diana Brown's company last week was Don Allen, Steve Bladen, Audrey Marsh, Judy Bailey, Sharon and Dave Wilson, Angie Handlon also Chad and Cary Brown and children Slone and McKenzie, their nephew and niece from South Carolina. It was an enjoyable visit.

We had a nice visit with Paulina Scudder at A.J.'s last week. Her daughter was with her, in from Arizona to visit John.

Patty Chase and Glenda Sullivan and many other locals went to the Larry Griffin visitation in Rising Sun Monday evening. Sympathy to LaVetta and all the family. Sympathy also to the Pearl Byram family and the Paul Chase family, the Sue Burk family, the Judy Dickerson family, and any I missed.

A friend gave me this joke he wanted to share with others.

Pirate Joke:

A pirate walked into a restaurant and the waiter said, "Hey, I haven't seen you in a while, What happened, you look terrible."

"What do you mean? I'm fine."

"What about that wooden leg? You didn't have that before."

"Well," said the pirate, "we were in a battle at sea and a cannon ball hit my let, but the Doc fixed me up, and I'm fine, really."

"Oh yeah? Well, what about that hook? The last time I saw you, you had both hands."

"Well, we were in another battle and we boarded the enemy ship. I was in a sword fight and my hand was cut off, but the Doc fixed me up with the hook, and I feel great, really."

"Oh," said the waiter, "what about that eye patch? The last time you were in here you had both eyes."

"One day when we were at sea some birds were flying over the ship. I looked up and got an eyeful of excrement."

"You're kidding," said the waiter, "You couldn't have lost an eye just from that."

"Nah, it was my first day with the hook."
