The Florence and Friends Relay Team will have a meeting Thursday, May 2nd, at the Florence Church of Christ at 6 p.m. Please try to be there to wrap up loose ends. Our pancake breakfast was so good and we want to thank all who donated supplies and to Belterra for their generous donation.

From the shoe factory reunion news we forgot to thank our helpers, Jimmy Simmons, Charles and Alberta Pickett, Florence Haskell, Corinne Martin and anyone I forgot. Patty and Glenda really appreciated and needed the help.

The Switzerland County Homemakers had a wonderful day at Achievement Day at Aberdeen Church. Those Aberdeen ladies are the best cooks ever. I love the butterscotch pie. I just got a small piece. Next time I'm getting in the dessert line first. I did get to bring Mary Lou Bowman's cherry delight home with me. That didn't last long. We had a great time seeing and hearing about the achievements of all the homemakers and meeting new and old friends. We would love to have new members. If you would like o meet new friends and share your homemaking ideas come and join your neighborhood club. Most clubs meet in the daytime but Florence Flowers meet in the evening for the daytime working ladies. Leona Adams, Sylvia Byars, Gladys Hunt, Inez Harker, Sharon Patterson an Patty Chase of the Florence Flowers enjoyed the day.

Open house at Vevay Mercantile Hardware as really nice Saturday. The store is really nice and they had free hotdogs, chips, drinks and cookies. Also many nice door prizes. (I didn't win any). Froggy radio station was there too giving door prizes. A big crowd attended.

The red hot red hatters had a good lunch and meeting at Julia Knox House Wednesday.

Margaret Lee Weidmann's company was Janice Ramsey, Kay O'Neal, Jerilyn Van Winkle, Mark Arvin, Bob Ferguson and Steve Bladen. Bobby Brown visited Mom, Randy and Ryan Brown over the weekend. Bobby and Mom visited with Denny and Diana Brown at Swiss Villa Saturday. Bobby visited Denny again Sunday morning on his way back home to Illinois. Lorraine Brown calls home every day from California. She has been keeping her mom Zella Wiltz comfortable at home. Lorraine called Monday to say that her mom had passed away. Keep the family in your prayers.

Patty Chase had a nice visit with Diana Brown and Sharon Wilson as they were shopping at Cash Saver. They had just left Denny at Swiss Villa. He may get to go home soon. Keep them in your prayers.

Patty also visited with Evonna Robinson at the store and got to see pictures of their little granddaughter walking in the American Cancer Society Relay in Louisiana. She was really pretty and just a little over a year old.

Faye Lewis is doing well at Switzer Square. Her company was Robin Lawson, Joanna Sawalich, Jean Sandidge and Glenda Sullivan.

Cindy and Janice Geis visited Pete and Carolyn Lowe and Glenda Sullivan Sunday afternoon. Glenda and Patty took Sharon Ballard to Madison for her chemotherapy treatment Thursday. She is really doing good and has one more treatment, then goes on a break for a few weeks and the treatments will be lighter. Nora Gross has finished her treatments and is doing well. Keep them in your prayers.

Casey, Sheila and Tiffany Rininger and granddaughters Lacy and Lilly visited Frank Rininger and Megan Bossart and family in Ghent, Kentucky Saturday.

Fourteen people from the Florence Church of Christ had lunch in Kentucky with Sally Thompson to help her celebrate her birthday. Jerry and Linda Webb of Warsaw and their preacher and wife came in and had a nice visit.

Richard and Leona Adams went to Ted Baker's birthday party in Aurora. They figured he had six kids, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren that filled the house up. Happy birthday, Ted.

Happy birthday to Virginia Bear of Madison and other April birthdays I missed, Loretta Westrick, Rhonda Fifield, Bonnie Robinson, LoriAn Lozier, Melissa Duckworth, Sally Thompson and the May birthdays coming up, Sylvia Byars, Jonas Keith, Roy Duckworth, Tiffany Rininger and others.
