On Wednesday, July 3rd, Janet Bond, who now makes her home at the Hoosier Boy, enjoyed having Pastor and Mrs. Steve Ward and Juanita Detmer visit her and share lunch. She enjoys her new home and the friends who are now a part of her life but misses her friends from Concord, especially her former view from her front window of the church and the farming activities that went on in Egypt Bottom.  She is thankful to feel safe in her new home. Craig and Jon Bond visit her often.

It was nice getting a letter from Janet. She was a great neighbor.

On July 2nd, Joe and Donna Brady, Ben, Patti, Raylinn and Taylor Kappes, Linda Smith, and Brenda Bethel traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky to attend the funeral for Joe's lifelong friend Donald "Doc" Vinson. Joe and Doc started coon hunting together many years ago and Doc became a close family friend. Doc will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Between Sunday evening, July 7th, and Tuesday afternoon, July 9th, the campers located at the Bovard farm in Aberdeen were broken into. There were multiple items taken. If anyone has any information or names they are asked to call the sheriff's department or a member of the Bovard family. There is a cash reward being offered for names and information that leads to an arrest.

Galen and Billie Green and great-granddaughter, Christine, and Ivan and Dollie Green ate at Subway in Kentucky. Dollie Green's cousin, Sally Kinghorn, stopped by the Greens on her way home from Florida with her family. Dollie was glad she and her family, Charlie Seymour and Jane Shirmer came to the Greens too. Charlie and Sally are siblings. Ivan and Dollie Green attended the veterans' service at the Patriot Baptist Church on Sunday morning, July 14th.  Reverend Jones and Judge Rucker had a very nice service.

Happy Birthday to Alli Azbell on July 14th.

A large crowd attended the Patriot Baptist Church Patriot and Veteran Recognition Service on Sunday. All veterans received a special gift from the church. Judge Fanon Rucker from Cincinnati was the special guest speaker. A picnic was enjoyed afterwards at the Patriot Town Hall.

The Patriot Baptist Church has church every Sunday at 11 a.m. and the Kitchen Table Sunday School Class meets at 10 a.m. at the church. The public is invited to come and worship.

The Switzerland County 4-H Fair is going on this week. There are many kids participating in all the events. Come out and support the children and the 4-H program.
