Florence News 8-10-17

The East Enterprise Fire Department will have its good chicken dinner Sunday August 13th, at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

I am still getting calls and information about the Florence birthday celebration to be October 14th in the afternoon at the Florence Fire Department and all over Florence. We will have entertainment and free food along with the past 200 years history and highlights of Florence. Come on down! The next meeting will be Thursday, August 17th at the Florence Church of Christ at 6:30 p.m.

Judy Lozier, Bonnie Duckworth, Karen Wentworth and Alberta Pickett met Judy's sister Nancy Johnson in Kentucky and they enjoyed the day in Cincinnati at the McCormick Schmitt on Fountain Square for lunch and later took a trolly to Newport and went sight seeing and had a really good time.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase enjoyed lunch at Harry's Stone Grill in Madison as guest of Sue Westrick and the Carrollton Red Hat Ladies.

Richard and Leona Adams visited Ginny Ann Adams at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati Sunday. Get well prayers for Ginny Ann also for Marjorie Whitham.

We enjoyed visiting with Ron and Jean Sandidge and family Sunday at the funeral for Faye Lewis. Faye was 99 years old and had a good life. Many friends and family members attended the funeral. Faye will be missed.

Cindy Gies, Glenda Sullivan, Patty Chase, Mark and Rhonda Scott, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth, Nadine Swift, Charles and Alberta Pickett met at Granny's for lunch Sunday after attending Faye Lewis' service.

Charles and Alberta Pickett, Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase had supper in Kentucky Saturday evening and enjoyed a visit with Galen and Billie Green, Ivan and Dollie Green and Linda Poling.

Roy and Bonnie Duckworth visited Bonnie's mom and dad Verle and Genevieve Truitt at the Waters of Dillsboro last week.

Glenda Sullivan visited Tracy Seale at King's Daughter Hospital last week. Tracy is back to the Waters of Clifty Falls and doing well now. Janet and Richard Sullivan, Jeanette and Squeak Knaus and Sondra Hyde also visited her.

Jason Messmore celebrated his 44th birthday Sunday. Happy birthday Jason.

Margaret Lee Weidmann's company was Kay O'Neal, Jason Messmore and Randy, Lorraine and Ryan Brown.
