The Church of Christ had a delicious 5th Sunday dinner at the church with lots of desserts and great fellowship.

I had a nice conversation with Alicia Fritter about her volunteer flight on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. throughout the Tri State organization. There was 68 veterans from Vietnam, Korea and three were from World War II. They left the airport at 5:30 a.m. and returned at 8:30 p.m. Each veteran had a volunteer assistant. Alicia's veteran was from Ohio and had worked for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department after he was an Army Lt. Col. in Vietnam. They visited the Pentagon 9-11 memorial, the Arlington national Cemetery where four veterans participated in a memorial at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier. They took a city bus tour and had lunch on the bus. They visited the National Law Enforcement Memorial where Alicia's veteran laid a rose on a fallen comrade. At the WWII Memorial, the Korean Memorial and the Vietnam Memorials they were at the right place at the right time to see the four fighter jets fly over and do the missing man formation. At Arlington they saw a 3 Star General being laid to rest. When they came home at 8:30 p.m. they had a welcome home rally of about a thousand d people cheering and shaking the veterans hands. Rita Brogan and Andrea Ogden were in that group waiting for Alicia. The 96 year old World War II Veterans were still wide awake and bright eyed. It was a great experience. Alicia said veterans 65 or older can sign up to go on a flight.

Ann and Glenn Isbell from Huntsville, Texas were visiting a few days in the area to go to the Ark in Kentucky and the Creation Museum. Wednesday evening they came to Bible study at the Florence Church of Christ. It was a delightful visit. They attend the Southside Church of Christ in Texas.

Linda Jones, Jerry Jewell, P.J. and Annie and the kids, Tom Hargrove and daughter; Nicole and friend and Ronnie Hargrove visited Betty Hargrove during the week.

Katy and Ed Trinkle came in from Virginia to spend a few days with Janice Cook in Cross Plains and visit others in the area. Friday Katy and Janice went antique shopping and Ed visited old friends in Vevay. Ruth Lohide, Martha Ann Sloan, Patty Chase, Glenda Sullivan and Kay Cook met him at Granny's for lunch and decided he was antique hunting when he found all these old ladies - "Just kidding." We had a good visit. Ed "Eddie Wayne" went to school with Patty and Martha at Mt. Hope School on Tapps Ridge a few years ago.

Patty Chase and Glenda enjoyed lunch with Pat Carr at Roxano's one day.

Denny and Mary Lou Bowman's granddaughter Lybbi Heffelfinger is recovering after her car accident about 6 weeks ago. She has been in UC Hospital and Drake in Cincinnati and may be able to come home this week. She still has a long way to go to be well. Keep her in your prayers.

Steve and Glenda Fritter will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children at the Swiss Inn in Vevay on November 18th from 1-5 p.m. Light appetizers and cake will be served. All friends and family are invited to attend. Please No gifts.

Nancy Johnson from Kentucky visited her sister Judy Lozier Sunday.

Margaret Lee Weidmann had a surprise visit from Paul and Bryan Messmore Sunday afternoon. They went on to Vevay and Paul got to visit his old bar and visited Randy Brown. He was really glad and impressed with the bar. Kay O'Neal also visited Margaret Lee.
