second in three-way meet
The Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity track team finished second overall last Thursday night in a three-way meet featuring Rising Sun and Jac-Cen-Del.
Jac-Cen-Del won the meet with a team score of 61; edging out Switzerland County for the title, as the Lady Pacers posted a score of 60 points. Rising Sun finished with 26 points.
Megan Dasis led Switzerland County, earning three first place finishes. She won the 200-meter dash in a time of :28.65; and was a part of the winning 400-meter relay team, which also featured Emily White, Eve Galbreath, and Bre Ricketts, in a time of :56.2. Megan Dasis also teamed with Jade Mullins, Bre Ricketts, and Paige Sawyer to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:51.
Megan Dasis also finished second in the long jump.
Other first place winners included Emily White in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 14:04; Paige Sawyer in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in a time of :52.5; and Eve Galbreath in the shot put with a distance of 29' 10".
The 3,200-meter relay team of Olivia Hewitt, Taylor Topie, Jade Mullins, and Emily White also earned first place in a time of 12:48.
Second places were earned by: Paige Sawyer in the 100-meter dash; Eve Galbreath in the 100-meter hurdles; Olivia Hewitt in the 3,200-meter run and the high jump.
Finishing third was Bre Ricketts in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.
Fourth place points were earned by Taylor Topie in the 400-meter dash; Bre Ricketts in the high jump; and Alexis Snider in the discus.
