for November 2nd
Jefferson Craig Fire and Rescue would like to announce the fourth edition of the Taterbug 30 Ultramarathon and Relay.
It will take place across Switzerland County on Saturday, November 2nd. The event begins at 8 a.m. in Vevay, and allows participants a seven-hour finishing time.
Spanning a course of 30-miles, the run will be along some of the most challenging terrain in the state. Rolling hills, wooded areas, and creeks will greet competitors from the road along a scenic course that winds throughout the county.
Named for the famous Taterbug Hill - the highest point in the county - the race will provide seasoned competitors with a challenging course yet is a good distance for the first-time ultramarathoner.
Organized teams of up to six members can run shorter lengths, each participating in five-mile legs.
Race registration is through the Taterbug 30 website located at www.taterbug30.com. Early deadline fees for individuals are $85 with a $100 charge after October 21st, 2013. Early registrations for relay teams are $350 per team by October 21st, 2013; and $400 thereafter.
Registration closes on Monday, October 28th, at 11:59 p.m.
Included in the registration fee is entry into the Taterbug 30 Ultramarathon race, long-sleeved technical running shirt with logo, finisher's medal, course medical support, and post-race meal.
