The brackets for the boys and girls Rivertown Classic Basketball Tournament have been announced.
The tourney will again be played at South Dearborn High School, and will begin on Wednesday, January 8th, with Lawrenceburg and Rising Sun playing in the girls semifinal at 6 p.m.
Wednesday night's second game will feature the Switzerland County Lady Pacers taking on South Dearborn at approximately 8 p.m.
The boys take to the court on Thursday night, January 9th, with the same bracket draw. Rising Sun and Lawrenceburg will play at 6 p.m. in the first game; followed by Switzerland County and South Dearborn in the second contest at about 8 p.m.
On Friday night, January 10th, the girls consolation game, featuring the two losing teams from Wednesday night's semifinals, will begin at 6 p.m.; while the boys consolation game will be played at 8:30 p.m. that evening.
Between the girls and boys consolation games on Friday, the annual cheerleading competition will be held, with the winning squad announced after the third quarter of the boys consolation game.
Saturday, January 10th in Championship Night, and it kicks off with the girls finale at 6 p.m.; followed by the boys championship tilt at 8 p.m.
Both single session and tournament tickets will be available each night at the door.
There is also a junior varsity Rivertown Classic, and on Tuesday, January 7th, Rising Sun will host girls and boys semifinal games featuring Rising Sun and Lawrenceburg. The girls game will get underway at 6 p.m., and the boys game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The other semifinal on Tuesday night, January 7th, will be played here at Switzerland County, and will feature the Pacer jayvee teams playing South Dearborn.
The girls game will begin at 6 p.m. that night; while the boys game will be played at 7:30 p.m.
The championship games will be played on Saturday morning, January 11th, at a site that has not yet been determined.
The girls championship will begin at 10 a.m.; and the boys championship will begin at 11:30 a.m. There is no consolation round.
Tickets for the junior varsity tournament will be available at the door of the host school on game night.
