Switzerland County High School held its Spring Athletic Banquet last Tuesday night. Switzerland County High School wrapped up an outstanding athletic year last Tuesday night with its annual Spring Athletic Banquet.

Athletes participating in all Spring sports were honored for their accomplishments, both on and off the playing field.

Those honored included:

- In girls track: the Senior Award was earned by Bre Ricketts; the Mental Attitude Award was earned by Emily Campbell; and the Heart Award was shared by Mackenzie Covington and Audrey Kinne.

McKayli Scudder was honored as the Most Valuable Jumper; Eve Galbreath earned the Most Valuable Hurdler Award; Susie Reyes was honored as the Most Valuable Thrower; Moriah Northcutt received the Newcomer Award; Whitley Schirmer earned the Most Valuable Distance Runner Award; and Megan Dasis was honored as the Most Valuable Trackster.

- In boys track: Ben Curran earned the Most Valuable Jumper Award; Brody Splain earned both the Most Valuable Sprinter Award and the Newcomer Award; Bradley Cox earned the Most Valuable Thrower Award; Braden Burk was named the Most Valuable Mid Distance Runner; Talen Taylor was the Most Valuable Distance Runner; and Ben Curran also earned the Most Valuable Athlete Award.

- In golf: Dustin Tice was named the Most Valuable Golfer; Hunter Hayes earned the Most Improved Golfer Award; and Nick Braun was named the Freshman Golfer of the Year.

- For softball: Brooke Todd earned the Batting Average Award; Kelsi Konkle earned the RBI Award and the Pitching Award; and Taylar Jordan earned the Freshman Award.

In junior varsity softball: Hope Tankersley earned the Batting Average Award; and Kelby Rogers was named as the Most Improved.

- In baseball: the Cy Young Award was presented to Nate Hunter; the Quality at Bat Award was earned by Kyle Konkle; the Golden Spikes Award was earned by Hunter Jordan; and the Golden Glove Award was earned by Bob Tressler.

For jayvee baseball: Brandon White received the Quality at Bat Award; and Matt Roland received the Cy Young Award.

Also honored were seniors who excelled in the classroom while competing on the playing field.

Those seniors honored included: Vicky Abbott for softball; Bre Ricketts for track; and Kyle Konkle for baseball.
